I am a plant ecologist who took up photography in 1978, firstly as a means to support my studies while it later developed into a tool I used to great success to enhance my work. I instinctively lean towards photography of natural things and have a passion for nature photography with the intent to illustrate the richness of design, pattern, colour, texture and contrasts inherent in the natural landscape and its creatures which are often hidden, while most of us pass in haste. I believe that one must first see something for what it is (or for what it's not) before your soul can be moved by it -one must learn to really see. Only then you can capture the essence of the subject. Through this process the image becomes a part of you while it will also reveal something of your soul.
We are surrounded by things of beauty - its up to us to find, capture and share them.
